Situated on the southern end of the Riviera Maya, the Akumal Beach Resort is 10 minutes from the Puerto Aventuras Golf Club and a short distance from famous Xel-Ha nature park.
The archaeological ruins of Tulum are 20 minute drive south and travel time to the Cancun airport is one hour and 20 minutes from the hotel.
The Standard category rooms at the Akumal Beach Resort offer ocean or garden views and a balcony. They are decorated in Mexican style and have a king-size bed or twin doubles, air- conditioning, ceiling fan, satellite TV, telephone, water purifying system, safe, and hairdryer. Handicapped facilities, cribs and non-smoking rooms are subject to availability.
Facilities and services at the Akumal Beach Resort include guest parking, 4 restaurants, 3 bars, and a discotheque. The hotel also has an ATM machine, currency exchange desk, car rental, travel agency and gift shop.
Available sports activities include tennis courts, organized beach soccer games, and water sports such as snorkeling plus an introductory scuba diving lesson in the their pool.

The Akumal beach resort has meeting facilities for up to 100 people and offers the services of a wedding coordinator, concierge, babysitters and laundry.
Their 4 restaurants feature the Principal, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner until 9:30 PM, serving buffet style meals. The Snack Bar serves light meals from 11 AM until 6 PM; and the Azteca Mexican Restaurant is open for dinner with regional specialties. La Trattoria, opens from 7:30 PM until 9:30 PM with a fine menu of Italian delicacies.
The all-inclusive plan offered by the Akumal Beach Resort provides all meals and snacks, welcome cocktail, unlimited consumption of selected alcoholic beverages, house wine with meals; Kids Club, introductory scuba diving class, non motorized water sports, organized in-house daytime activities and evening shows.
