Argovia Finca Resort, Chiapas
Argovia Finca Resort attracts guests because of the incredible natural beauty of the area coupled with the breathtaking views from the resort of the surrounding mountains and Pacific Ocean.
The Argovia Coffee Plantation dates back to 1880 when a Swiss family settled in the area and began growing coffee here. In the 19th century the plantation was sold to Adolf Giesemann and now belongs to the fourth generation of the same family.
Due to a fall in the price of coffee a few decades back the owners decided to diversify their products and started growing other crops such as fruit trees and tropical flowers. Later the plantation opened for tourism offering accommodations dining options and leisure activities as well as ecological activities to help preserve the region’s unique flora and fauna.
Argovia Finca Resort is located at the foot of the Sierra Madre in a region of Chiapas called "Soconusco". It's about 40 km away from the city of Tapachula.
It will take you about 1 hour and 10 minutes to get to the hotel from the airport or the border with Guatemala.
Tapachula have an excellent public transportation system, making it very easy to get around and explore all the local attractions.
The cottages are at the top of a hill, they offer you an spectacular view of a landscape full of mountains, rivers and the jungle.
The wooden bungalows are at the foot of a hill and features a lovely terrace with hammocks and an amazing view of the coffee plantation's lawn.
The suites are decorated in a rustic style. They have a larger capacity, and have the basic comforts and conveniences, like a garage or microwave oven.
They all count with one king size bed or two twins beds, dining area, kitchen, sitting area, shower, coffee maker and mini fridge($).
The Plantation take care about more than 125 species of coffee plants and fruit trees. This hotel is quite unique for his amazing aromas and colorful exotic flowers. They offer several tours to the different areas of the plantation, as well to neighboring plantations.
They also have a gift shop, with many handmade articles, they sell their own salsa made with the family´s secret recipe.
Argovia Finca Resort run the restaurant Tierra de Café, open from 8:00 to 20 hours. Here you will find the most exquisite fusion cuisine with an European touch, international specialties and of course the top of the Mexican cuisine. Some ingredients like fruits, herbs and spices were grown at the Finca.
The Bamboo bar & lounge is open from 10:00 to 22:00 hours, it features an open bar, with great Chill Out music and other kind of music, excellent drinks and snacks are the perfect combination with the jungle around you.
The hotel is a proud honoree of the Rainforest Alliance Certification, also has been recognized for its leadership in sustainability and support for conservation work and outstanding efforts in the protection of water resources, top soil, and reforestation.
